The Royal Mariachi Band was founded by Farman Hernandez — one of the UK’s most accomplished mariachi musicians, with over 30 years of experience across Mexican mariachi and the broader world of Latin American music.
Farman’s credentials are exceptional. He has performed live on the BBC Graham Norton Show, featured in high-profile campaigns for Mini and Doritos, and had the honour of playing in front of royalty and international celebrities. It’s a career that has taken him from televised competitions to festival mainstages — and he brings every bit of that experience to every event The Royal Mariachi Band performs at.
Alongside Farman, the band is made up of passionate, highly skilled musicians — each with decades of live performance behind them. Together, they deliver something genuinely special: authentic mariachi music with the professionalism and showmanship that only comes from years at the very top of their craft.
Farman’s love of music began at age 12, when he first picked up a guitar. He went on to formally study music and vocal performance, and by his late teens was competing and performing in mariachi serenades and Latin music showcases.
Over the years, Farman became a sought-after performer across multiple authentic Mexican and Latin American bands — building up television appearances and live engagements that most musicians only dream of. Among his most celebrated career moments: performing in front of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, and later entertaining the late Sir Roger Moore and a host of other internationally recognised celebrities.
He also founded his own Latin American band, establishing a strong reputation for delivering memorable live music at weddings, private parties, and corporate functions — the foundation on which The Royal Mariachi Band was built.
After joining ‘The Mariachis’ — one of the UK’s most prominent mariachi acts — Farman became an integral member of the group, performing at celebrity events, music festivals, television shows, and for some of the country’s most recognised brands.
His most notable chapter with the group was as part of the Doritos Mariachi Band, where he featured as an animated figure in the brand’s widely-seen UK television campaigns — a level of mainstream exposure few live musicians achieve.
Now, Farman has channelled everything from that career into a new venture. The Royal Mariachi Band brings together an exceptionally experienced lineup of musicians, committed to delivering a truly immersive mariachi experience — every time, for every event
Whether you’re planning a wedding, a milestone birthday, a corporate event, or a festival appearance, The Royal Mariachi Band is ready to make it unforgettable.
