Booking live entertainment can feel daunting — especially if it’s your first time hiring a mariachi band. We get it. It’s not exactly an everyday purchase! The questions below cover everything our clients typically ask, from what instruments we play to how we handle travel costs and PA requirements.

We always put together a well-balanced combination of instruments. As standard, we offer trio, quartet, and quintet configurations.

Absolutely. While we always curate a great-sounding combination regardless of band size, we’re happy to accommodate specific requests — for example, if you’d love a trio that includes a trumpet player. Just let us know when you enquire and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Our standard set options are one set of 60 minutes, or two sets of 45 minutes each. We’re also happy to discuss custom set lengths to fit around your event schedule — just mention it when you get in touch.
We always arrive at the venue at least an hour before our set begins. This gives the band time to set up, get changed into costume, and prepare properly. We do ask that venues provide a private room or space for the band to change and store their belongings — if you’re unsure whether this is available at your venue, let us know and we’ll help figure something out.
If there is sufficient time between the date of your booking and your event, we can certainly accommodate your request for a song. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss your song request.
Once we’ve confirmed all the details of your event, we’ll send over an invoice with full pricing and payment information. Your booking is officially confirmed once we’ve received your deposit — so don’t leave it too long if your date is coming up!
To secure your booking, we require a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due 15 days before your event. For bookings more than a year in advance, we accept a reduced 20% deposit. All payments are made securely online via credit/debit card or bank transfer. Please note we do not accept cash or cheques.
For events outside the M25, we add a travel supplement of 70p per mile. For events within London, we charge the applicable Congestion Charge and ULEZ fees, plus parking costs where relevant. While some band members may travel by public transport, our lead musician always travels by vehicle to transport the band’s equipment — so a travel contribution is always required for London events.
Yes. For larger events — such as festivals or private parties with an existing sound system — we can provide a full technical rider with everything your sound team needs to get the best from the band. Just let us know when booking and we’ll send it over.
No. The Royal Mariachi Band is fully acoustic and performs brilliantly with or without a stage. One of our most popular formats is having the band roam around your event — moving between tables, mingling with guests, and creating that authentic street-mariachi atmosphere. Perfect for wedding drinks receptions and private parties.
For events with up to around 250 guests in a standard venue, our acoustic setup typically works well without amplification. For larger gatherings, bigger venues, or events where you want the music to carry across the whole space, we’d recommend hiring a PA system.
The good news: we work with trusted audio hire companies and can liaise with them directly on your behalf if needed. It’s one less thing for you to organise.
